HOLY THURSDAY AND EASTER SUNDAY
For pastoral reasons, an extra 4.00pm Mass is customary at St Patrick’s Church on Holy Thursday. However, this is provided for those uanble to attend the 7.00pm Mass of the Lord’s supper, which remains the principle Holy Thursday Ceremony at St Patrick’s.
The principle Easter Mass is the Easter Vigil at 7.00pm on the Vigil of Easter. this is a grand and beautiful ceremony, holding the most significant place in the Church’s ligurgical calendar as we follow the cycle of the Seasons of Grace. The Ceremony of Light begins at 7.00pm, after night has fallen. there are four Masses on Easter Sunday, since it may not be suitable for many to be out at night, however, their number is reduced to give due priority to the Easter Vigil. Please note the changes in Mass times for Easter Sunday. Normal times will resume the following Sunday.
